Concert clubs are the incubators for tomorrows pop stars. Whether for local newcomer bands or DJ careers, the clubs run the stages that enable direct first contact between music makers and their audience.

But as never before, the difference between the big and the small ones in the concert business became more evident than of today. A circumstance which, in direct comparison, also defines the chances of survival of the concert clubs.

So how about introducing a French-style ticket tax to promote and support this segment of the music industry? What are the arguments in favour and, more importantly, who is against it?
