Balance Breach
In the more melodic sections of Finnish metalcore, Balance Breach play something akin to the optimal mix of elements from the best alternative metal tradition and the technically complex djent influences of bands such as Architects and Meshuggah. The quintet bring grooving polyrhythms, lush power chords, and palm-muted gating grandeur into perfect symbiosis on their debut EP, “Incarceration” (2015). After winning the Tuska Festival Competition and tearing down the stage at Tuska Open Air in 2019, Balance Breach quickly landed a deal with the respected label Out Of Line Music. Their first studio album, “Dead End Diaries” (2020), was released shortly afterwards and catapulted the five-piece into the Valhalla of the Nordic metal scene. Sold-out venues between Helsinki and Oslo give proof that this is a project that can even hold its own in a landscape that is certainly not lacking in great bands. With their second album, “Abyzmal” (2023), which was released last year, even the worst doubters were appeased. If you want to experience the level of this combo for yourself, you will undoubtedly have to see them live.
