Kim Balthasar has been with Herbert Grönemeyer’s indie label Grönland Records as a product and A&R manager since October 2019 – working with up-and-coming and established artists such as LEILA and Siggi, plus Oehl, Philipp Dittberner and Philipp Poisel. She also manages upcoming artist S1RENA.
Kim has a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Business Communication from Berlin University of the Arts, where she’s also set to complete her Master’s in Leadership in Digital Innovation. Kim’s creative thinking and perception are central to her work: the A&R manager sees innovative strategies as crucially dependent on mindset, active listening and the ability to link up apparently contrary elements. She views music is part of the broader debate within society, and focuses closely on community development, trend monitoring and content strategies. This led Kim for example to create a viral campaign with Philipp Dittberner entitled “Songs for Strangers” – making his tour a sell-out. With S1RENA, Kim is running a fan-centred campaign attracting hundreds of fans to music video premieres on YouTube.
