During the 2010s, the Mighty Oaks broke new ground in Germany with their internationally successful indie folk that didn’t have its roots in the USA or the UK. Of course, Ian Hooper is American-born, Craig Saunders comes from England and Claudio Donzelli from Italy, but they found each other in Hamburg. They later headed to Berlin, and from there the trio conquered the whole of Europe with a quintessentially life-affirming, vital and warm sound combining pop, folk and unfussy indie charm. A run of four stellar albums was released in less than seven years, coming to a temporary end with "Mexico" (2021), which neared perfection in terms of songwriting, vocals and arrangements. After that, the Mighty Oaks went quiet - as if they had slipped away for some deep contemplation. Now they are back with a major acoustic tour, presenting a showcase covering everything they’ve done so far. Presenting old and new songs alike with some unexpected arrangements, the band draw a line from the past to the future - and over to their own fans.
