With a changing cast of musicians, Brighid Fry creates a sound that is impossible to classify but that lies somewhere between rock, pop, and lo-fi experimentation. Originally influenced by the folk music that her parents listened to, she went through an emo phase in her teens before arriving at her current, mature style with impressive, catchy melodies and contemporary coming-of-age lyrics. Since then, Canadian feature pages have showered the artist with praise and rightly attest to her promising future. Having been honoured with awards from all the relevant Canadian magazines, she has now completely emancipated herself as a solo artist under the alias “Housewife” and is forging her very own path. It’s a path that will take her to Hamburg for the first time in September with a new live band.
