Suuns
Since their founding days in the late 2000s, Suuns have never been at a loss for stylistic breaks and experiments. Quite the contrary: On albums such as the brilliant “Images du futur” (“images of the future”) (2013) and the reduced and dark “Hold/Still” (2016), the quartet from Montreal have always proven that they can easily navigate the waters between art rock, kraut elements, and neo-psychedelic punk capers with the wind at their back. And all the while, the music is always stylistically coherent. The art of this kind of eclecticism lies precisely in mastering and integrating all kinds of styles. Even on the later albums “Felt” (2018) and “The Witness” (2021), Suuns create not just songs, but also textures. The tracks are simultaneously danceable and yet written layer by layer in such a way that you have not choice but to immerse yourself in the sound. In contemporary rock music, there aren’t many bands in the world that can reinvent themselves time and again and still be recognisable after only five seconds. If you’re not yet convinced, you’ll have the opportunity to experience them live with us in September.
