Inspired by such diverse figures in music history as Anderson .Paak, John Mayer, Tyler The Creator, and Derek Trucks, Maya Delilah’s signature sound is always different, but also always deeply emotional and difficult to grasp. Over the years, the singer–songwriter has written a variety of melodious songs such as “Breakup Season” and “Moonflower” about coming together and being left, about mental health and the interpersonal madness of the dating era – always with respect and reflection, but also with pointed cleverness. Thanks to her impressive videos in which she demonstrates her guitar skills, she has now garnered millions of likes on TikTok and also addresses the misogyny that she often faces online as a female guitarist. But Delilah masters her instrument as well as her voice and songwriting – which exists somewhere between pop, R&B, and soul – at an extraordinary level. Last year, two precursors to her upcoming debut album entitled “Necklace” and “Actress” were released, which she will also present here in September.
