Master Peace
Like so many others, Peace Okezie spent his teenage years at house parties and raves, making friends and being inspired by connecting with other people. Musically, bands such as Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys were just as influential as The Streets and Calvin Harris. As Master Peace, Okezie creates driving indietronica for the dancefloor that stems both from these influences as well as from a contemporary image of masculinity whose unconditional cornerstones are deep friendships and sincere empathy. Love and regret, cultural confusion, and the search for one’s own path: In short, the turmoil of adolescence are at the centre of this DIY newcomer’s lyrics and sound design. He has mastered it all on his recently released debut album, “How To Make A Master Peace” (2024), and following thunderous applause from the British arts pages, he will be bursting onto our stage in September.
