Donna Savage locates her unconventional rap style between gutter romance and high-rise glamour, with which she has recently caused an unseemly furore in the Viennese hip-hop scene. The artist celebrates grit in rap, knows how to relate to the street and doesn't indulge in cheap posing. Of course, representation is part of it, but she is also passionate about graffiti art, photography and skateboarding. She also studied printmaking in her Master's degree and is therefore well versed in various art forms. You can definitely hear this in her muscular beats and pointed lyrics in tracks such as ‘Schumacher’ or ‘Rückhand’, as the beats and samples are bursting with attention to detail, a sense of adventure and self-confidence. Since her first solo show at Berghain-Kantine in 2023, Donna Savage has also gained a reputation for having a knack for crazy live shows, which we can only confirm.
