Imagine you are entering a room. But not just any room: the “Beauty of no Return” is a virtual reality space where a very special sanctuary awaits: the holy sanctuary of the noble human capitalist. Guests can watch the rulers of the patriarchy as they worship the god of wealth and power and pay homage to his offspring. Colourful, confusing, unseen. Modern rituals meet hidden references to contemporary pop and consumer culture. Sound crazy? It will be!
Behind this idea is artist duo Animationseries2000 from Hamburg, who bring their visions to life in the fields of installation art, painting, illustration and experimental animated film. Their work has been shown in Copenhagen and London, presented at MS Dockville and found a platform in well-known publications such as Grafikmagazin, ItsNiceThat and Brand eins. The Reeperbahn Festival sees them to invite you to an immersive experience.
