Wilhelmine
“Lived diversity” – if anyone knows the meaning of this term, it’s Wilhelmine. Growing up in a squat in Berlin-Kreuzberg and in the Wendland area, she experienced a wide variety of lifestyles from an early age. Wilhelmine made her first active contact with music as a teenager and became part of a girl band, Direkt. After graduating from high school, she took guitar lessons and started her own YouTube project, which Wilhelmine now affectionately calls “enlightenment gay podcast nonsense”.Fans love Wilhelmine for honest lyrics that they can identify with, and at the same time she manages to leave the listener with a good, uplifting feeling from her songsDiffusmag already ranked Wilhelmine among the “10 best new artists” in 2020. Impressions of this were conveyed by her singles “Drip”, the upliftingly beautiful “Eins sein” (with #1 on the TikTok Germany Hot 50 Charts, #27 on YouTube Trends and over 60k TikTok Creations as well as over 8 million views on TikTok & Instagram Reels a viral hit of 2021) – and “Firebird”.In 2023, Wilhelmine was one of the artists who were extensively highlighted by Amazon Music as part of their major Pride Month campaign. She could also be seen supporting Lotte and Benne, with a guest appearance on the most recent Selig album (in the song “Girl on the Roof”) and live at “Inas Nacht” (with “Eins sein”), the ARTE Open Experience Stage Berlin and a song poet session with Florian Künstler.
