Tim Jürgens (born 1969) has been deputy editor-in-chief of 11FREUNDE, the magazine for football culture, since March 2008.
Tim Jürgens studied history and German language and literature in Göttingen and Hamburg. Parallel to his studies, he helped set up the magazine ‘Intro’ as ‘Regional Manager North’ from 1993 and worked as a freelance music journalist for the ‘Hamburger Morgenpost’, among others. In 1998, he moved to the editorial department of ‘Playboy’ in Munich and from 2004 worked as an editor on the development and market launch of the magazine ‘Matador’ at Heinrich Bauer Smaragd KG. In April 2006, he joined 11FREUNDE Verlag in Berlin, where, in addition to his role as deputy editor-in-chief of 11FREUNDE, he was also responsible for the editorial management of the sports magazine NO SPORTS from 2016. He is the author of several football books and his reports have been honoured with awards from the ‘Association of German Sports Journalists’. When he's not hosting the ‘11Freunde pub quiz’, he plays in his own league, the ‘League of Ordinary Gentlemen’.
