Alexander Schulz, born 1966, is managing director of RBX GmbH and founder of the Reeperbahn Festival, festival director of the ELBJAZZ Festival and chairman of the board of Hamburg Music Business e.V.
In 1998 he founded the agency Inferno Events GmbH & Co. KG, which, under joint management with Detlef Schwarte, introduced events like the “Theaternacht Hamburg” and the “After Work Club”. Schulz was also managing director of HÄKKEN music club until 2021.
As co-creator of the EU initiative Keychange, which promotes greater gender equality in the music industry, Schulz launched the “Pledge”, whose signatory festivals and music organisations commit to achieving balanced gender representation.
Alexander Schulz has also lectured at universities such as Folkwang University, his alma mater Leuphana University in Lüneburg and many others.
