Saskia Lorenzen-Schmidt
Saskia (she/her, 38, Hamburg) has been volunteering for four years as chairwoman of the board of the non-profit lunatic e.V. (Lüneburg, founded in 2003), which, among other things, coordinates the student learning project “lunatic Festival”. In 2020 and 2021 she co-organized the sustainably oriented festival herself and, in these particularly challenging years, worked intensively with other organizers and associations to obtain more (political) support for the cultural sector.
In her scholarship-funded individual studies, she deals with topics such as anti-racism, feminism and inclusion, which she brings into her daily work at “Höme - Für Festivals” and the associated event platform “infield”.
Saskia believes that festivals can contribute to sustainability transformation and expects people and organizations in positions of power to use their privileges to strengthen our diverse society.
