The pension is safe, at least for the big artists within the metal scene. Their fans in the age group ‘best ager’ are already taking it a little easier when it comes to banging, while the new generation is mostly following new and upcoming artists of this genre on Tiktok.
At first glance, the age difference doesn't seem to make much of a difference to the fans. However, the difference between new and well-known bands is huge. And not just only business-wise, and also in terms of occasional macho metal, including online shitstorms. So, what mobilises fans and what is to say about the modernisation of the fascination of ‘metal’ in the concert business and streaming competition? Or can everything stay the same?
