Night Tapes
A creature of the night, an idea born from the intoxicating rush of distraction between strobes and streetlights: Night Tapes make music for the dead of night or the crack of dawn, depending on your perspective. The London trio has attracted attention with a series of excellent EPs in recent years, and not just in the British electronic metropolis. The in-crowd on the European mainland between Barcelona and Berlin have also heard the deliciously sprawling dream pop from these three - usually more than just a few notes. But in case you're in any doubt, a few notes is all you need to fall head over heels in love with the super lushly produced works like ‘Download Spirit’ (2020) or ‘Perfect Kindness’ (2023). A splash of neo-psychedelia here and there, a few drops of downtempo and carefully sprinkled R'n'B vibes make the Night Tapes' recipe on their latest output “Assisted Memories” (2024) a crystal-clear trip without a return ticket. It's a sound design that encourages you to let loose and party in equal measure. Just be careful: comes with a “highly addictive” health warning.
