For decades, the tradition of the singer–songwriter was the foundation of the German-language music landscape. Today, German MCs hold this tradition and speak from the soul with hip-hop, bedroom productions, and their very own remixes. Perhaps MC WINDHUND will soon act as a bridge between the two shores. Indeed, the rapper can deliver unconventional hip-hop tracks à la “Feuerzeug” and “Letztendlich” as well as beautiful folk ballads in songwriter style – such as the heartbreaking “Decke” – with a fervour that sends shivers down listeners’ arms. Although little is known about the greyhound so far and one of his most successful Spotify tracks – the “Uschi” trance edit – is an official club banger, the potential in terms of lyrics, melody, and production is clear with this young genre-crossing talent.
