Growing up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and inspired by the picturesque prairie landscapes of the Canadian wilderness, Katie Tupper’s music is as spiritual and enchanting as it is rooted in the here and now. The young singer–songwriter’s debut EP, “Towards The End” (2022), demonstrates her impressive talent when it comes to the fusion of velvety, soulful vocal harmonies and sparse arrangements of guitar and drums. Tupper doesn’t need much to get straight to the heart of things through the listener’s ear when she deals with themes such as devotion and identity, love and the turmoil of growing up. On EP number two, the soul poet shows that she is no one-trick pony. “Where To Find Me” (2023) continues the path that Tupper has chosen as an artist: written, recorded, arranged, and co-produced by herself, the song material is 100% autonomously created and is not beholden to the commercialism of the industry.
