While little’s actually known about 19-year-old Jassin, the rapper with headphones and a head full of lyrics is poised to become German hip-hop's new rising star. From the German East country, he's heading out on tour, into the big wide world, with big ambitions and an appetite for the stages in all corners of German territory. Anticipatory praise and favourable comparisons with Felix Kummer and Schmyt hint at where the voyage could take him, but the very first track from Jassin's pen is a breed apart. "Wellness am Scherbenmeer" is biographical and intimate on the one hand, but also accessible and with plenty of scope for identification on the other. A piano-driven beat, lyrics laden with emotion and a delivery that's as confident as it is authentic. Jassin has all it takes to make it to the pinnacle of German rap.
