Bon Jour
The very definition of a DIY project, Bon Jour found and founded themselves as a trio. Initially, the three musicians wanted to leave their egos in the basement and instead go public with digital avatars like the Gorillaz, but they still did everything themselves: write, record, record, produce. And it’s been working out for them. Their first single, “Blue Moon”, was released and immediately shot to number one in the Austrian FM4 charts. But everything was in flux, with the former electropop trio quickly growing into a seven-piece band and finding itself musically. Today, Bon Jour are not only Austria’s first virtual band, but also a genuine supergroup because all the group’s members were already active in previous projects, such as Berglind, Siamese Elephants, and Good Wilson. Last year saw the release of “Chapter 1: Growth”, the promising first album from a project that now combines electropop, indie, songwriter folk, and big-band vibes with ease. But their second release is already in the works: Bon Jour will have new material with them for their concert in Hamburg, which their growing fanbase is highly looking forward to.
