Porcelain Id
Fresh out of nowhere, Hubert Tuyishime lets their voice resound across the European music landscape, combining classic pop hooks with a stunning voice and lo-fi electronics with the ritual power of gospel music. Although they are still at the very beginning of their career under the unconventional alias Porcelain Id, the 23-year-old Belgian singer–songwriter has already attracted a lot of attention with this year’s debut EP, “Bibi:1” – and not just in their native Belgium. In the UK, tastemakers at BBC Music and other radio stations have already caught wind of the talent. In Germany, the outcry is only beginning, but that could soon change. Thanks to poetic lyrics that deal with deeply personal moments from their own life and the convention-breaking impetus of their music, Porcelain Id could soon trigger a real hype, especially among discerning tastes. This completely unusual pop music is sure to make for one of the most interesting Reeperbahn premieres this year. Not to be missed.
