Pale Blue Eyes
Making a splash with their first single on their own label – that’s a strong statement right from the get-go. For the dream-pop reformers with the lyrical band name Pale Blue Eyes, however, no effort was too great to bring their wandering signature mix of alternative dance and rock, shoegaze and indie, post-punk revival and the aforementioned dreamy pop nuances to a starving audience. And their success has been all the proof they need: Their debut album, “Souvenirs” (2022) – which was released a short time later on the Full Time Hobby label – also made waves in the UK, was praised by Quietus as daring and danceable, and was even seen by Clash as the first proof of their musical mastery. And their follow-up, “This House” (2023), immediately managed to one-up its predecessor. As clear as the sources of inspiration appear (The Velvet Underground, Slowdive, M83) in the group’s tastefully balanced songwriting, the music of Pale Blue Eyes is just as idiosyncratic. A unique live experience.
