The Lemon Twigs
Even as children, brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario performed on the big stages. Broadway productions, HBO series, Hollywood films – there is hardly anything that the two did not successfully attempt long before they first appeared as The Lemon Twigs. And all that experience is paying off: Beginning in the mid-2010s, the duo’s musical career suddenly took off. A few demo recordings for Jonathan Rado (Foxygen) were enough, and shortly afterwards, the D’Addarios signed with the prestigious 4AD label. From their studio debut, “Do Hollywood” (2016), to the brilliant “Songs For The General Public” (2020) and this year’s “A Dream Is All We Know”, the two multi-instrumentalists have refined their take on sunshine pop with 60s vibes, jangle rock, and psychedelic flavours. As fulfilling as a summer’s day at the lake with friends, as nostalgic as a Twister ice cream pop, and produced like a Beatles album, The Lemon Twigs are riding their colourfully decorated hype train. Next stop: Hamburg.
