Des Rocs
Daniel Rocco set his sights high right from the word go. The extroverted glam rocker launched his solo project Des Rocs in 2018 with the first EP "Let The Vultures In", and fast became a sought-after live act in New York and beyond - having already spent years as a bandleader in other projects here. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Roy Orbison, Kanye West and Queen, he finally turned to the big stages with Des Rocs to create a high-energy sound. And rightly so, as the debut album "A Real Good Person In A Real Bad Place" (2021) proves. Muscular alternative and indie rock, dance punk and eruptions of noise pop flex their might alongside the Elvis-memory vocals of Rocco himself. The inspirations are just as clear to hear as they are delightfully exploded, Des Rocs tearing up one venue after another and leaving soaked-through audiences in their wake. The follow-up "Dream Machine" (2023) also follows this philosophy, but is even more defined, showing a band in fine form who have since toured with Muse, The Struts and The Rolling Stones. Think big is the motto - and if anyone has lived up to it in recent years, it's this guy with this band.
