Asha Jefferies
Although Asha Jefferies has been making and releasing music for almost ten years, her first studio album with the self-deprecating title "Ego Ride" will not be released until 2024. What took the young singer-songwriter from Brisbane so long? Well, in addition to the two EPs "Hold Yourself Together" (2019) and "The Pinnacle" (2021), she has been playing incessantly across Down Under and honing her sound, which has established its niche somewhere between Angel Olsen, Phoebe Bridgers, and melancholic pop numbers from the early 2020s. Not the worst strategy when the focus is on not obeying the laws of the platform market. In addition to Julia Jacklin and Lime Cordiale, Asha has also performed on stage with Noah Dillon and Hope D, as well as taking up slots at renowned festivals such as BIGSOUND and Against The Grain. So it's high time that the long-awaited debut was given a proper presentation. With her gig with us, she will undoubtedly fulfil this promise in September.
