Stephan Schulmeistrat is Director of the German Music Information Center (miz) and President of the International Association of Music Centres (IAMIC). After training as a church musician, he studied musicology, art history and Romance languages and literature. He worked as a freelancer for Bärenreiter Verlag and the Beethovenfest Bonn, among others. In 2003, he became a research assistant at the German Music Council before moving to management level in 2016, where he took over the leadership of the miz.
