Robin Elias Alef combines politics and activism with culture and music. As a long-standing spokesperson for collaborations at the national level of Fridays for Future Germany, he has played a key role in building relationships between the climate movement and the cultural sector. Among other things, he is (co-)responsible for the booking and programme of the largest demonstrations in recent years throughout Germany and supports alliances such as ‘Zusammen gegen Rechts’ and ‘Wir sind die Brandmauer’.He works as a research assistant in the Bundestag for the promotion of democracy, where he helps negotiate the budget and also appears as a speaker at public events.Last year, he founded the think tank for the decarbonisation of the music industry for Polyton (Academy for Popular Music, Pop Music Prize). This is where he anchors his vision of realising socio-political issues in cooperation with the music industry - in line with Polyton's DNA: ‘By music creators for music creators’.He brings together the best-known artists in the German pop music industry with experts to jointly develop concrete solutions for the most pressing problem of our time: The man-made climate crisis.
