Michael Otremba has been Managing Director of Hamburg Marketing and Hamburg Tourist Board since May 2016.
Michael Otremba regards tourism as an important driver for increasing the quality of life in cities like Hamburg. By bundling Hamburg's strengths from a wide variety of topics, the city's profile is sharpened with the aim of further increasing Hamburg's global profile and appeal.
Michael Otremba develops and maintains national and international relationships for Hamburg: For example, the city benefits from the fact that he is in close dialogue with other european cities as a board member as well as Vice Predident of City Destination Alliance (#CityDNA) or that he contributes Hamburg's perspective as a board member of the German Tourism Association (DTV).
Since 2022, Michael Otremba has also been a member of the Tourism Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, convened by Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck. The advisory board advises the respective federal ministers on important tourism issues. The committee provides a valuable platform for direct exchange between the business community and the executive branch.
From 2008 to 2016, Michael Otremba was Vice President of Advertising, Media and Marketing at Munich Airport. Previously, he held leading positions in sports marketing for around ten years, including at Sportfive in Hamburg and for Sportfive at Borussia Dortmund.
