Lena Hansen
As a sustainability scientist, Lena developed international multi-actor partnerships for almost a decade, mostly about food supply chains. At the same time, she also designed sustainable development in regional projects in her hometown of Hamburg. In 2017, through altonale - The Festival of Cultural Diversity - she became part of Green Events Hamburg, a non-profit network for future-oriented events, and began formalizing the organisation in 2019. As a board member and manager, she plays a pioneering role in project development, is a creative strategist and, as an enthusiastic network professional, brings a wide variety of people together for a common goal. Green Events Hamburg has now advised over 40 event organizers in and around Hamburg, thus setting in motion or further deepening the process of sustainable events - for the implementation of street festivals, sporting events, music festivals, public insitutions and many more. Measures that are easy to implement are always shared publicly and with the network and enable other event organizers to rethink the organization and implementation of their projects in an easy manner. In order to simplify these processes for all event organizers, a public standard for sustainable events has been developed, which is also already being implemented with many partners. Green Events also develops educational projects and awareness campaigns; easily accessible checklists have already been developed with and for over 100 institutions. Lena works in a value-driven and content-focused manner and loves meaningful challenges.
