Karsten Schölermann (born 1960) was first a musician in the early 80s - later he studied business administration and graduated. He has been running Hamburg's "KNUST" since 1983. He was on the board of LIVEKOMM, LiveMusikKommission e.V., from 2012 to 2020 and is now 1st chairman of the Bundesstiftung LiveKultur.His Hamburg activities also include the events "Rockspektakel" (Rathausmarkt) and "Hafenrock" (Hafengeburtstag) - both of which have been part of the fixed rock music programme in the Hanseatic city for over 20 years. He has also been co-owner of LOGO since 1994. The range of events is supplemented by about a dozen running events. As a track and field athlete for many years, he has been responsible for the 10-kilometre run around the Alster and the Hamburg Half Marathon since 1990, among others - both are among the largest of their kind in Germany.
