Jessica oversees all music licensing, curation and artist partnerships across both music games. Jessica is also responsible for managing relationships with over 80 music rightsholders, including all the major labels and publishers. Space Ape released Beatstar in September 2021, which has become the most successful music rhythm game since Guitar Hero. Beatstar features over 700 songs by over 500 artists such as Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, The Rolling Stones, Nicki Minaj and Iron Maiden.Off the back of Beatstar’s success, Space Ape launched its first genre-specific game, Country Star in September 2023. Country Star is the world’s first music rhythm game dedicated to Country, Americana and Southern Rock music. Space Ape’s music game franchise has been played by 1 in 10 Americans and has a global player base of over 70 million people. Beatstar and Country Star are two of the most heavily featured apps on the App Store and Google Play store and the second largest affiliate to Apple Music. The Beatstar music game franchise has generated over $150m in revenue in less than three years, making it the highest-grossing music game franchise in the world.
