Anikó Glogowski-Merten
was born in Havelberg in 1982.
She grew up in the former GDR, in a small village in Brandenburg on the state border with Saxony-Anhalt.
In 2007 she moved to Braunschweig to study art history. Since then, Braunschweig has become her home. She also found her political home here and decided to become a member of the Free Democrats.
For years, she has volunteered on the topic of female empowerment and in 2017 launched a founders‘ forum for women and worked in the creative industries herself until she was elected.
Since 2021, she has been a councillor for the city of Braunschweig as well as a member of the Free Democrats in the Bundestag and has been appointed spokeswoman on cultural policy for the parliamentary group.
She is also a member of the German Bundestag‘s committees for foreign affairs and for climate protection and energy.
