As an environmental scientist, Helen's research focuses on how society and nature influence each other and how a better understanding of sustainable development and a willingness to act can be awakened. She is on the board of Green Events Hamburg. For Green Events Hamburg, among other tings, she is a consultant for events, who want to achieve the Green Events label and moderates events.
Currently she is head of the department of education and communication at the Alfred Toepfer Academy for Nature Conservation, where she implements advanced training courses for the Ministry of the Environment of Lower Saxony.
