TINCON @ Reeperbahn Festival
On Wednesday and Thursday of Reeperbahn Festival, we are once again excited to welcome around 3,000 young people who will participate in workshops, talks, games, and much more across the 3 TINCON stages in the Festival Village.
All festival and conference ticket holders, as well as people between the ages of 13 and 25, are eligible to participate after registering in advance: free for everyone aged 13-25, register here.
Pop, politics, and digital topics: The topics are geared toward what’s currently on the minds of teens and young adults and are at least as colourful as your social media feed! The focus will be on the rise of the far right, AI, and the climate crisis, as well as your self-esteem!
You can find the complete programme here. You can look forward to the following highlights, among others:
Marie Joan: Girls just wanna have fun (damental self-confidence)? // Talk
Do Clean Girls have their lives under control, or are they fueling consumerism and unrealistic standards? Do Girls Girls strengthen solidarity among women, or do they attack everything that looks like criticism? Marie Joan has practically mastered the art of being a girl on social media. In this talk, she will share her experiences and discuss the bright and dark sides of such trends. What might look like feminism from the outside can sometimes be disguised as sexism.
Arne Semsrott: What to do if the Right comes to power // Talk
These are troubling times: Current election polls show that many people (including young ones) in Germany can imagine voting for far-right parties like the AfD. What would happen if right-wing parties came to power? And what can we do then? At TINCON Hamburg, Arne will explain what the anti-democratic right has planned and what we, as young people, can do, even if it seems like it’s already too late.
Maraam: Funny cause it's true: Stand Up by Maraam // Performance
If you’ve never had one of Maraam’s TikToks on your FYP, you’re probably not on social media and have missed out. Maraam sings, parodies everyday topics, or speaks with her signature dubbing voice, nailing situations we almost all know. While she is often perceived as reserved because she wears a hijab, she shows that comedy is anything but haram for her. For TINCON Hamburg, @Maraamharaam has prepared her first live stand-up, so you better not miss it. Unless you’re not in the mood for laughing.
Theresia Crone: Taking legal action – How to sue your government // Talk
Heat, drought, water shortages, or floods – the effects of climate change primarily affect those who are socially marginalized and have little political voice: children and young people. What to do? Sue the government! Meeting climate goals is not just a nice-to-have; it’s a commitment that the German government also signed under the Paris Climate Agreement. In her talk “Taking legal action – How to sue your government,” climate activist and law student Theresia explains how climate lawsuits come about and the crucial role they play in the fight against the climate crisis.
Green Screen Studio // DIY Station
Salon5, the youth editorial team of the investigative network CORRECTIV, will be at TINCON with their mobile green screen. There, you can record your video with your choice of fancy backgrounds. Together, we’ll animate the background, just like in a real film studio. Come by and show off your skills in front of and behind the camera!
Producing Music Videos with AI // Workshop
In this workshop, you’ll produce your AI-generated music video using the neural frames platform. You’ll learn from the platform’s founder how to give your creative output a visual upgrade with artificial intelligence. After you’ve separated your track into its components, you’ll prompt and edit your way to your music video.
