Opening Show with Rachel Chinouriri, Aurel Mertz, Alli Neumann and many more!
The Opening Show opens the Reeperbahn Festival for the sixth time under this year's motto ‘Let the Music Grow’. You can look forward to a high-calibre line-up of personalities from culture, politics and the music industry who will show how versatile music can be, how it can contribute to this and what framework conditions are needed to ensure that this continues to work in the future.
You can expect speeches from the festival director Detlef Schwarte, the Minister of State for Culture and the Media, Claudia Roth, and Hamburg's First Mayor Dr. Peter Tschentscher.
Presenter Aurel Mertz will then guide you through the programme with top-class live performances by singer Alli Neumann and other acts. The Anchor jury, made up of musician and singer Julia Stone, songwriter, producer, actress, entrepreneur and activist Tayla Parx, singer, guitarist and producer Emily Kokal and singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko, will present the six nominees of this year's competition before giving an insight into the challenges and inspiring opportunities for the future of the music industry in a keynote speech featuring prominent speakers. Barbara Gessler, Head of the European Commission Representation in Germany, will provide insights into the Keychange programme for the coming years and the strength and importance of the European music ecosystem. After a live performance by singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri, the Reeperbahn Festival will officially open and present the most promising bands and artists from all over the world on the stages of the clubs, while prominent panels and keynotes of the conference programme will deal with current issues in the music world over four days, which are always exemplary for an overall social context.
Admission to the Opening Show is possible with a corresponding invitation or a Reeperbahn Festival ticket valid on the Wednesday of the festival. For Reeperbahn Festival ticket holders, the first-come-first-served principle applies.
Please note: We kindly ask you not to leave your seat once the show has started. The show is being recorded and therefore there is no right to admission after the start, or admission/exit is only possible in urgent cases. Thank you for your understanding!
