Robert Levine is the Deputy Editorial Director of Billboard, where he leads the team that works on Billboard Pro and helps coordinate coverage of the music business. He is the author of Free Ride, which the New York Times Book Review called “a book that should change the debate about the future of culture.” The book, his first, was also praised by Businessweek, Fortune, and the Financial Times. As a writer, he has covered pop culture and technology for almost three decades and contributed to Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Businessweek, Fortuneand The New York Times; appeared as an expert on NPR, the BBC, and CNN; and spoken at the World Copyright Summit in Brussels, as well as other conferences. He has also been a features editor at New York magazine and Wired. He has a B.A. in politics from Brandeis University and an M.S.J. from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism. He lives, and struggles with German, in Berlin.
