With classical music training on the violin and piano, Olivia Hardy and William Gao not only discovered their passion for music at a young age, but also took it to an extraordinary level. The emotionally rich bedroom pop of the sibling duo harbours the instrumental qualities of a young chamber orchestra on the one hand and the charm of an indie combo with big ambitions on the other. And who could blame them? After all, their debut EP, “How Can I Pretend?” (2022), was not only a crowd favourite on the streaming platforms, but also highly praised by the British press. Last year, they completed their first headlining tour in the UK as Wasia Project. This year, they are coming to Hamburg.
