The Wallners were founded under the most difficult circumstances imaginable: In 2020, when the pandemic brought all our lives to a standstill, the four siblings Anna, Laurenz, Max, and Nino made the decision to make music. They wrote and produced their first EP – “Prologue I” (2020) – on their own, recorded everything at home, and created five soft but richly produced dream pop numbers. The single “In My Mind” received over a million streams within a few weeks and landed the quartet a deal with Universal almost on the spot. The group is influenced by classical music and film soundtracks as well as by pop from the 80s and 90s, which is also reflected in songs such as “Dracula” and “All Again”. “We do what we feel, and we like it best when the song can be abstracted,” said the band in an interview last year. Now, the Viennese musicians are finally coming back to the stage with new songs in Hamburg.
