Tiavo
“I believe in everything Falco says,” sings Leandros “Lucy” Miltiadis Nassioudis in the song “Vienna” – making it clear with a wink what the duo Tiavo is all about. They are a modern crossover of rap, rock, and pop that harkens back to the New German Wave of the 1980s and that is given an official facelift for the new twenties by producer Deon. As the first signed artist on Genetikk’s label, Outta This World, Tiavo caused a sensation back in 2018 when their debut, “Oh Lucy”, entered the German charts. The DIY indie act then went on tour with the likes of US rapper NF as well as Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park). The project have many faces, sometimes moving between flashing slot machines and overflowing ashtrays, sometimes between Bürgerpark Hafeninsel and the pub around the corner. But they are always very close to a sound that has been declared dead for far too long despite the fact that it possesses and describes so much of the modern attitude to life. With new song material, Tiavo will finally prove just that in Hamburg this September.
