Sometimes, it takes the encouragement of our loved ones for us to realise what we are capable of. Sadie Jean only began her artistic career when her brother encouraged her to upload her music to SoundCloud. A cover of the Radiohead song “Creep” soon appeared for all to hear. Shortly afterwards, her first single, “WYD Now?” (2021), went viral on TikTok and turned young Jean into an artist whose inbox exploded overnight. Although she had been writing her own songs since the first grade, taking piano lessons for years, and singing in the school choir, the singer–songwriter never expected this sudden success. She is now studying at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in New York, accompanied Johnny Orlando on his North American tour last year, and released her debut EP, “Simple Like 17”, in 2023. A talented newcomer full of ideas and ambition.
