Becoming one of Norway’s most interesting electronic music producers virtually overnight is no walk in the park. After all, the land of a thousand fjords has a long tradition of exceptional acts that develop their own unique sound language with synths and samplers. Peder Niilas Tårnesvik achieved this feat back in 2020 with his debut album, “Also This Will Change”, whose enchanting yet futuristic sound also caused a sensation south of Scandinavia. And fans of ethereal, emotional, and precisely designed microhouse with a heavy ambient touch are particularly enthusiastic about the production qualities of the man who throws himself into experiments as if he were jumping into an ice-cold glacial lake. On “Stone Skipping” (2022) and “Hydrophane” (2022), Niilas also demonstrates that he is able to integrate everything from future garage to electro-acoustics into concept albums.
