It all began for Kim Ye-rim – aka LIM KIM – with the South Korean talent show Superstar K3. As part of the band Togeworl, she made her first major appearance there and impressed the jury not only with her multi-faceted voice, but also with her glamorous and confident stage performance. From then on, there was only one way for the young singer to go: up. This was followed by EPs such as “A Voice” (2013) and “Simple Mind” (2015), which not only climbed high in the South Korean charts, but also wowed the critics musically. With this emancipated artist, billowing synthesisers and intoxicating vocals meet indie pop and a confident delivery that is unrivalled even in the pulsating music circus of Seoul. With fresh material such as her new track, “궁 (ULT)”, she is finally returning to the stage in Hamburg this year, where she once delighted an enthusiastic audience not so long ago.
