Reporters of postmodernism, witnesses of interpersonal decay, and brothers in the spirit of the times: EASY EASY are more than just the next indie combo with German lyrics. The collective from Cologne are opening a new chapter in local rock music with deeply personal, unpolished songs, while still paying homage to the influences of the past. In the best DIY style, raw one-takes of disillusioned vocals and dirty guitars of the calibre of Beach Fossils and King Krule are combined with bass grooves in the tradition of The Cure and Joy Division. Last year bore witness to their first release, and now, with “Echoes etc., Vol. 2”, EASY EASY show just how stylishly they can blend the tried and tested with the special to create a signature all their own. They are now tattooing their name in German music history and at the same time speaking to an entire generation from their overwrought, confused souls as if nothing could be easier.
