Dolores Forever
It was probably simply fate that led Julia Fabrin and Hannah Wilson to meet at a house party in London, where they found that they had instant chemistry. Marked by bad experiences with other songwriters, they promised to remain friends and not make music together. But to no avail. The duo quickly hit the ground running as Dolores Forever, sharing an enthusiasm for the Spice Girls as well as Cyndi Lauper, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen right from the start. Delightfully approachable indie pop is the result of this mutual creative fulfilment, which reaches a climax for the first time on their debut EP, “Baby Teeth” (2022). Emotional, intimate, and equally artful, the duo write music with their own private thoughts and feelings as well as with biographical references that listeners can see themselves in. “We want to make art that actually makes a difference,” said Dolores Forever. The two work together like the numbers in a Sudoku puzzle and are finally coming back to Hamburg with new material in September.
