C'est Karma
It must have been karma that Karma Catena’s politicisation in her first punk band at the age of 14 later led to her studies in Amsterdam and then to her career as a solo artist. Music gave the young artist the opportunity to vent her anger at the world and its seemingly unsolvable problems. The inability to act with regard to the climate crisis, the absurd gap between the rich and the poor, the new desire for war in many parts of the world, and even her love of cinema and pasta all find their place in the sound of this ambitious artist. And all of it is set to music in a delightfully eclectic way. Hyperpop and alt-pop along with influences and inspirations ranging from Björk to Billie Eilish combine in the sound of C’est Karma to create an amalgam of emotions that is as intimate as it is intense. With her new single, “Quand Je Serai Grande“, she continues to develop her sound and is preparing for her debut album “how to peel an organge“, which will be released on September 13.
