Battlesnake
When a pronounced vein of Monty Python-esque humour meets creative myth-making and venom-spouting heavy metal, a bite from Battlesnake is imminent. The seven-piece group from Sydney have been ploughing their way through the dungeons of the metal underground for a few years now, always emerging victorious from the fog of war with several level-ups: first, with their debut EP, “Myths And Legends From Gorbag’s Domain” (2020), and then last year, with their first full-length studio album, “Battlesnake”. Three guitarists, bass, drums, keys, and vocals – what this band is able to pull out of its sleeve often puts many imitation metal bands – and even their more serious colleagues – in the shade. It’s no wonder that music journals around the world have been making enthusiastic comparisons with King Gizzard, Judas Priest, and Steel Panther. Indeed, Battlesnake have already accompanied KISS at one of their concerts. Higher honour is hardly possible, even today.
