Life often writes the best stories: As ADMT, Adam Taylor can sing a song or two about life – and he does. The singer–songwriter from the north of England didn’t have it easy in his childhood and wants to use his music to encourage other people who are struggling in life. To achieve that, ADMT draws on the silky beat patterns that are common to R’n’B as well as indie pop, the epic arrangements of Ed Sheeran, and the instrumentation of British series soundtracks. Songs such as “Wish You Loved You” (2023) and “Graffiti Bridge” (2024) – which features the amen breaks of drum and bass – demonstrate that the up-and-coming artist is a great singer and also a songwriter who loves to experiment. He is currently climbing up various Spotify playlists at an unprecedented pace, and the tastemakers at BBC Introducing are also already hooked. Now, he’ll be casting his line in Hamburg in September.
