Ein Gespräch mit dem Creator und Showrunner der Serie „Schwarze Früchte“
Lamin Leroy Gibba, actor, screenwriter and producer from Hamburg, presents his first television series this year – BLACK FRUIT (OT: SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE), as of October streaming on ARD Mediathek – in which he is the creator, showrunner, head writer and lead actor. The 8-episode-series takes a confident and unconventional look the lives of Black and queer characters in Hamburg. SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE was invited to the Tribeca Festival in New York earlier this year and will celebrate its German premiere at the Filmfest Hamburg 2024.
To create the soundtrack for SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE Lamin Leroy Gibba collaborated with Hamburg musicians Don Jegosah and the band Bangerfabrique, as well as international artists such as TAAHLIAH, James Indigo and Tohji. We will talk to him about what music can achieve as a narrative tool in films and series, how he uses music in his work, and what practical, technical and political aspects are involved.
