Even before Nils, Lars, Jules, and Johannes recorded their debut album, the four musicians were already travelling all over Germany as Soeckers, playing private parties, clubs, and festivals. The four-piece duo was founded in 2015 and was inspired from the outset by Britpop à la Oasis and Blur as well as lyrically and stylistically by Rio Reiser and Udo Lindenberg. It’s the mix that makes the difference, which is why Soeckers continued to experiment with their songwriting up until their debut album, “Kopfkarussell” (2018), sometimes drifting more towards indie, then again towards folk rock or beat-driven alternative. Songs such as “Michelle” and their new single, “Traum ist aus”, have grown into merciless earworms that are landing on playlists all over the country. Soeckers can now look back on a loyal fan base, plenty of live experience, and several releases that prove them to be a tight-knit team. And they will soon be travelling to Hamburg in September with their latest EP, “Bis nach Tokio” (2024), in their luggage.
