OYESONO
It’s always amazing to see the creative energy that producers of well-known acts develop when they realise their visions. Jasper Maekelberg has hardly let anything get away from him in this respect in recent years. Pulling the strings in the background, he has accompanied projects such as Balthazar and Warhaus, Faces On TV, and Sylvie Kreusch in the studio, proving time and again that he has a knack for great melodies, arrangements, and – above all – overall production qualities. Now, together with singer–songwriter Billie Leyers, he is in the process of realising his own personal vision. As OYESONO, the duo create almost-erotic alt-pop with a neo-psychedelic flavour that is illuminated in a wide variety of stylistic facets: downtempo, summery folk, songwriter sensibilities – it’s all there. Songs such as “Feel It Coming” and “Jenna” are therefore just as suitable for dancing as they are for a relaxed road trip in the sunset. Just the right vibe for their gig in Hamburg.
